After the dark
The room was breathing but
I felt like a stone
A thousand voices still
I stood alone
The days kept moving
I just watched them pass
My face in the window
A ghost behind the glass
And sunlight across the bedroom wall.
A tiny golden line, but
I could feel it all.
My fingers found a rhythm on the window frame.
And something deep inside me started beating again
And another feel the heat beneath my skin
As opposed beneath the silence
Let the world back again
After the dark.
Let the light hit hard
With the wild things sleeping in my heart.
I don't need the sky to promise me the sun.
I can feel the morning call coming from within.
After the night in my heart
Every frozen part of me comes back to life me
Now
I leave the curtains open in the morning.
