Shunned At A Funeral - Names

They turn their faces when we speak
Cross the street, call us weak, say our
Hope is outdated, faith
A crutch for fools and broken choirs
They roll their eyes at a words like
Truth, say faith is fear in sunday clothes.
We're too loud for quieter
Rooms, too slow for a world
That only moves
They say we chose the losing side, that
Grace is weakness dressed in lies.
They isolate us, mark us
Strange, say love like this will never change.
They tell us keep it to ourselves, hide our cross, shelf our songs.
We don't belong, we don't fit in
We're ghosts inside the shape of things.
They call us addict, they call
Us orphan, they call us a
Weirdo, they call us hardened, they call
Us failure, they call us useless.
Us
Finished, they call us ruined, but he
Calls us chosen
He calls us known
He calls
Us children.
He calls us home
He calls us righteous
And singing
