Velvet Voice Blues - I Choose My Life

I spent too many years trying to be what
Others needed
I called it being selfless while slowly
Losing who
I was.
I choose my life
I choose it now
No more waiting
No more asking how
I gave enough
I gave my best.
Now
I choose my life
And nothing less
I carried other people's worries
As if they were my own.
I was always
There for everyone, but somehow felt alone.
I choose my life.
I choose my life.
I choose it now.
I choose it now
No more waiting.
No more asking how
