Shunned At A Funeral - The Last Carriage (Unplugged Version)

This one's a little spooky but
I promise it ends well
If you want to sing along, the words
Will be up there.
Just watch Cassie
She'll show you when to come in
This is the last carriage
He came at dusk with velvet rains.
No
Thunder shook the street
He bowed beneath the window pain and waited for my feet
He made no threats.
He raised no blade
Just held the carriage wide
The quiet was the price
I paid.
The hour
I stepped inside
The lamps drew back.
The darkness grew
The road unroll below
The last familiar house withdrew from all
I used to know
Roll on roll on you darkened wheels
Through the fields
I used to roll
The grave can't take what dust conceals but
Christ will call me home
Past my father's empty chair, past an
Orchard dressed in gold.
