Mikhail Bennett - My Little Boy Became A Man

My house forgot what laughter sounded like
After she went home
Above the
Walls grew old with every passing year
Waiting for the voices that
I loved
My son still dreams beyond these doors
My daughter found her own new life
I thank
God for their happiness
And walk these rooms alone at night
My home grew quiet in a different way
The day he chose another road
My little boy became a man
Then carried love into his own
I SMILED AS I LET HIM LEAVE
Like every mother knows she must
Every night just silence whisper
Who will grow old
Who will grow with us screaming
Two empty houses
Two hearts learning how to pray
Neither one was looking for tomorrow till
God co our ways
He didn't erase our memories
He didn't shake and chop down
He simply placed two broken lies
Where love could grow at last
