Velvet Voice Blues - Tonight I Choose Me

I was late for my own living.
Always somewhere
I should be.
Always
Fixing, always giving, saving everybody
But me.
Then
I heard the drums on friday
Calling from across the street tonight
I choose me
Me, me
WILD AND ALIVE and finally free
Turn that rhythm up for me tonight
I choose me
Me, me
I was wearing workday trousers, had
My hair tied in a knot
I said maybe just one minute
Knowing very well
I'd not.
Then a woman
With gold earrings
Pulled me laughing to the crowd tonight
